Terms of Service
Last updated September 21, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Loki ("Loki", "we", "us") for the Loki mobile app and the lokisocial.com website. Using Loki means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
1. Who can use Loki
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement to hold a Loki account. Loki lists events that can involve alcohol, late nights and meeting people in person, and the app is built for adults.
That is a rule about accounts, not about who may attend an event. Organizers set their own age at the door, and it can be lower — a member may bring their child to a morning football game. Anyone under 18 attends as the guest of an adult member, without an account of their own.
Loki is in private beta. Features can change, break or disappear while we build it.
2. Your account
You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Apple. Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Pick a username and profile that are really yours. Do not pretend to be another person or organization.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile > Settings > Delete Account. Doing so cancels any events you are organizing and notifies the people going to them, so if an event should still happen, hand it to someone else before you go.
3. What you can do in Loki
- Browse events near you by city, distance, date and category, on a list or a map.
- Create, edit and delete events, set them public or private, require approval for people who want to join, and set the age at the door.
- Join events, see who else is going, and invite people.
- Follow other people and view their profiles.
- Send direct messages and chat in event group chats, including photos.
- Receive push and in-app notifications about invites, approvals, messages and events.
- Set a profile photo, bio, interests, home city and how far from home you want to see events.
4. Events are run by people, not by Loki
Events on Loki are created by other users. Loki is a place to find them and coordinate; we do not organize, host, supervise, verify or endorse any event, venue or attendee, and we cannot promise an event will happen as described.
Meeting people in person carries real risk. Use your own judgment: tell a friend where you are going, meet in public places first, and leave if something feels wrong. You are responsible for your own safety and for anyone you bring.
Every event states an age at the door, from all ages upward. If you organize, you must set one that matches the law where your event happens — 21 in most of the United States wherever alcohol is served — and it is your responsibility to check ID at the door. Loki does not verify anyone's age, and the age shown on an event is the organizer's statement, not ours.
If you bring someone under 18 to an event, you are responsible for them while they are there.
Loki does not currently sell tickets or process payments. If an organizer asks you for money, that is between you and them.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post: your profile, events, photos and messages ("Your Content"). You give Loki a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute Your Content only as needed to run and improve the service, for example showing your event to people nearby or delivering your message to the person you sent it to.
That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other people already received (such as a message in their chat) and backups that expire on their own schedule.
You promise you have the right to post what you post.
6. Rules
Do not use Loki to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, bully or discriminate against anyone;
- post sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal, hateful, violent or sexually explicit;
- create events to defraud, scam, or lure people into unsafe situations;
- spam, advertise without permission, or send unsolicited invitations in bulk;
- share someone else's private information or location without their consent;
- scrape, reverse engineer, overload or attack the service, or get around its limits or security;
- use another person's account, or create accounts to dodge a suspension.
7. Reports, removals and suspension
If an event breaks these rules, tap Report on the event and tell us why. Reports reach us directly and we look at every one. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.
For anything else — a profile, a message, or a safety concern that does not fit a report — email hello@loki.events with the details.
You can block anyone from their profile. Blocking hides the two of you from each other — messages, profiles, follows and invitations all stop working in both directions. It deletes nothing, the other person is not told, and you can undo it at any time.
We can remove content, take events down, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk, with or without notice. When we take an event down, everyone going to it is told it was cancelled and given the reason.
You can stop using Loki and delete your account at any time.
8. Location and notifications
Some features need your location (to suggest events near you, to place an event on the map) and permission to send notifications. You choose whether to allow these in your device settings and in the app, and you can change your mind at any time. Some features will work less well without them. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle this data.
9. Third-party services
Loki relies on services from others, including Google and Apple sign-in, Firebase, Amazon Web Services and the map providers on your device. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their availability.
10. Our property
Loki, its name, logo, design and software belong to us and our licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. That does not include copying it, selling it, or building a competing service from it.
11. Disclaimers
Loki is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that event information is accurate, or that it fits your particular purpose.
12. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Loki is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, and is not liable for anything that happens at or because of an event or an interaction with another user. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and some places do not allow the limits above, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Loki grows. When we make a material change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Loki afterwards, you accept the updated terms.
